The Pelletier's are a railroading family. My grandfather - Armand D. Pelletier, worked for the Chicago and Northwestern around the time of the First World War, but left the railroad after repeated strikes in 1919 - he felt he could not be sure of being able to support his family. My uncles, Frank A. Pelletier and Donald M. Pelletier both were career engineers on the C&NW after serving in the Second World War.
My father, Julian M. (Jack) Pelletier also worked for the C&NW in the late thirties, but went on to a long career in Mechanical Engineering with Samuel R. Lewis and Associates. However he did retain an avid interest in railroading, and took many photographs of C&NW steam in the '30's and '40's. Some of them are shown here.
